2012 Pantone color of the year
February 2012 |
“The 2011 color of the year, PANTONE 18-2120 Honeysuckle, encouraged us to face everyday troubles with verve and vigor. Tangerine Tango, a spirited reddish orange, continues to provide the energy boost we need to recharge and move forward.”
The executive director of the Pantone Color Institute, Leatrice Elseman, says Tangerine Tango is “sophisticated but at the same time dramatic and seductive.” The 2012 Color of the Year was inspired by the radiant shadings of a sunset – combining the adrenaline rush of red with the warmth of yellow. This vivid color emanates heat, energy and liveliness.
Tangerine Tango can energize the interior space of any home through patterned home accessories, such as our new Autumn Leaves accent chair (shown on top). Add a splash of color to your bedroom with pillows and bed spreads (as shown with our Resin Collection, middle). Adorn your dining room table tops with Tangerine Tango accessories or padded dining chairs (shown on bottom).
This bold and bright color has a personality of its own. Use the color as an accent color in accessories, small appliances or single item pieces, such as our new luxurious sanguine chaise. This high-impact color is sure to spice up any room.
With such an outstanding color, you might think it’s hard to find complementary colors. Tangerine Tango pairs nicely with its complementary opposite colors – blues and greens. When used with shades of brown, it brings out an amber cast.
Incorporate this fun and lively hue to perk up any room!
